Bon Voyage Jamie and Joakim

Little Jamie and Joakim has found a new mum! I will be sending them to the airport today.

Bon Voyage my little ones, hope you'll find new friends in USA. I'll miss you, I am sure you'll miss me too wouldn't you?

A friend asked me a question on facebook before...
"Wayne, I have no bear making talents. :-( When I see all the beautiful bears that are handmade with such love I want them all! How do you artists let them go? I realize you make them for a living but I would want to keep every one. I'm glad you can let them go to good homes because if your didn't, there would be a lot of unhappy people in the world. :-) "

My reply:
I think the same too before I am a bear artist. But after I start to make more and more i realise practise makes prefect. Everytime i make, I will do my best to make a even better piece. It's hard to let go sometimes, but I need to let them go out to see this beautiful world - places that I can't afford to go! I believe some day, when have extra money to see the world, Wayneston Bears will be waiting there for me to pay them a visit!

If you are an artist, I would love to hear how do you feel about letting your creations go to their new homes. If you are a friend of Wayneston Bears, I would love to hear your some of your thoughts too... or just popped by and say hello! =)

Sebastian my new double neck bear

Hello everyone! Here's our new Wayneston friend name Sebastian =)

Sebastian is a friendly grizzly bear living in the Wayneston Forest. He loves honey just like Pooh Bear.

He is made using 4 different mohair and I have given him a double neck design which allows him to tilt his head & neck to different angles and directions. I have so much fun making him.

In the past, I had made several double neck bears but they all happened to have long necks... which makes them turns out to look like dinosaurs... LOL!
They are so ugly that I didn't show them on my blog :p I hid them in a box and sometimes i do bring them out for a good laugh =)

Here are some pictures of Sebastian, hope everyone do enjoy viewing him and give me some comments on him. He will be available today on Bear Pile.

Thank you and have a wonderful weekend =)

Meow! A new friend is in town!

Meow Meow Meow... Let's welcome a new friend! =)
Her name is Melissa, a Wayneston Cat that I have made specially for Halloween.

I had always wanted to make a cat and was planning to make one for Friday the 13th... however she is was ready for Halloween instead! I guess she enjoys the party more than I do. LOL

I have made her a orange collar which was inspired by the pumpkim and I have also made her a "Jack O Balloon". Her body was a 4 piece design, therefore she looks more chubby than the rest of the Wayneston bears... all i can say is that i fed her very well :p

To see more her pictures and details please check my bear pile for more information.

Have great weekend my friends =)

Wayneston Bears 1st Blog Give-Away

Dear friends, if you are a follower of my blog then you may have know that I have won 2 blog give-away earlier last month. I feel very lucky and excited to have won “Blue Moon” from Blondheart and “Feeling Blue Mouse” from Mouse Droppings. I believe that this blog give away should be continued and shared to people from all parts of the world. Let’s spread the joy of giving to every one of us.

This blog give-away starts on September 10th (Friday) and ends on October 8th (Friday). The draw and winner will be announced on this blog & facebook on October 9th (Saturday).

I have decided to do my first ever blog give-away bear and named this bear, Aloysius. Aloysius is not my design; he is made from a pattern from Basic Boot Camp by EBearZ University, designed by Nancy Tillberg. I have down scale the pattern of the bear to 8” tall.

Here is some details about Aloysius. He is made from cream coloured mohair. He is 100% stuffed with polyfill and lots of love, lightly stuffed to have a soft huggable feel. His paw pad and foot pad are made of Ultra Suede. I have added some details such as needle sculpting at the muzzle and scissor sculpting to give him a “Wayneston Bear” look. Aloysius is then finished off with waxed nose, shadings and a brown checkered ribbon tied around his neck. A Wayneston Bear swing tag will comes along with him.

I want to take this chance to thanks everyone (friends, followers and bear artist friends) for their encouragement and advise. Thank you for your interest in my work and commenting on my blog, I really love to read your comments.

This blog give-away is open to public. How to win this bear? Here are 5 chances to win Aloysius…

1) Become a follower of this blog if you aren’t one yet.

2) Leave a comment here and leave an email address & name so that I can contact you if you win.

3) “Like” Wayneston Bears Facebook Fan Page AND comment on the album “Basic Boot Camp Bear, Aloysius”.

5) If you are a Wayneston Bears collector and purchase any of my bears please let me know, I will add an extra entry into the draw.

Last point to take note! If the winner does not reply my email within the 3 days from the draw, a new winner will be drawn.

Good Luck everyone! =)

New Bee Bear name Augustine

Let's welcome a new bear in Wayneston Town, his name is Augustine. This is my 2nd attempt to create a Bee Bear. The first is named Junie, created and adopted last year during the Singapore Teddy Bear Show.

A year has passed, i have finally decide to create another new Bee Bear. This time, I tried to make a better design and I enjoy making him and so does my mum, she really miss Junie and kept asking me to recreate another one. I guess she likes bee bears.... especially the wings!

I m even planning to make some fairy bears in the future when time permits. Creating something new is always what I m looking for...

Augustine will be available on Bear Pile and Etsy.
Dear friends, I would love to hear some of your comments on Augustine =)

I have won this blue little mouse in a blog-giveaway, created by Susan Pilotto from Canada. Susan is an artist who specializes in creating one of a kind miniature animals from recycled wool felt fabric. Her workmanship is superb, I cannot see any flaws on the mouse, he is just sooo prefect! =) I highly recommend her creations.
