Little Precious On Board

Today is an exciting day for me and my family, because my sister has delivered a baby girl =)
Baby girl weights 2258 grams and is 44 cm tall! I feel a sudden urge of undescribable happiness when I saw her in the nursery. How I wish I have a baby too!

My mum carried the baby gently while I took some pictures, it's shame that only parents or grandparents are allowed to enter the nursery, I can only watch my niece through the window.

Oh dear, I am now a uncle, how I wish my niece calls me brother instead, I feel so old now...
She is so precious to us, I so looking forward to visit her in the hospital tomorrow =)

I hope you enjoy viewing these baby pictures as much as I do, have a great weekend everyone!

New bunny again??? Here's Toothie =D

Yes... I have been crazy lately, I have been making bunnies since day one of 2011... Haha and I am still making them now =) Perhaps I am in the Chinese New Year mood, making more bunnies to welcome the year of rabbit. Sometimes, I wish that I do have bunnies as pets so that I can make more realistic bunnies.

Here's Toothie, my new bunny design. This time I have given him a bunny tooth and air brushing too. Look! He is wearing a Wayneston Bears wooden charm! I hope you will enjoy his pictures.
Toothie is now available on Bear Pile.

I am thinking what to make next? Any suggestions? Maybe I should start making a few more Wayneston Babies =) Thanks for stopping by my blog, we hope you have a nice day =D

Celebrate the making of 100 Wayneston Bears

Dear bear friends,

I am proud to announce that I have made 100 Wayneston Bears!!! Woohooo =)

I have done some counting (photographs) a few weeks ago... and was thrilled to find out that I have made more than 100 bears. Although my bears are small in size, this is one of the accomplishment that I wanted to make when I first started bear making.

You may not know that this blog is specially created for myself to write about my journey from day 1 to become a bear artist. This is a dairy of myself, each time I create something new, they will be registered in here. As I look back at my older posts, I see the improvements that I have made and most importantly, the way my bears/creations evolve. This is an interesting process and I am glad that you are all here to withness my growth =)

For a period of more than 1.5 years, 100 bears have been made, although not every piece that I have created are the best, I have treated them like my babies... I have kept the first few bears that I have created, so that I remember the reason why I wanted to become an artist.

I am still constantly creating bears/animals everyday, so now my room is now filled with Wayneston Bears!
Hence, I will like to use this opportunity to offer up to 20% discount on Wayneston Bears that is featured on my website at this link.http://www.wix.com/waynelim/Waynestonbears
Click on the tab "Promotions" to adopt a Wayneston Bear.

I hope they will find good homes soon. Thanks for the encouragement, I will do my best and look forward to my making of 200 bears =)

Have a great weekend!

Hugs,
Wayne

Work in progress ^.^

Ok... I must confess that I have been very lazy this few days, I think I just need a break.
I have been spending some time after my day job watching dramas and tv programmes. LOL

Of course I did some sewing but very slowly... Here's a new bunny that I am working on right now.
She is the smallest Wayneston bunny that I have ever made, I think her cute face is evolving =)

I will be swapping this bunny with a local bear artist (I shall keep her name secret right now...Haha)
and she will be making me a panda =)

We will be switching the bears this Chinese New Year, yipppeee =) , of course I'll post some pictures of the swap here too.

Many thanks for the lovely comments on my previous post about the logo =) I am glad that most of you like my logo. The next time I shall share an article about toys which I wrote for my final year project in school.

Have a great day!

Wayneston Bear Logo

Have you ever wondered how do I create the logo of Wayneston Bears or which bear's head on this logo belongs to?

Today I am going to tell you =)
The bear head belongs to my number 12 bear that I have created. He hasn't have a name and he is not for sale... a bear that I create for myself...
I love this bear facial expression, he makes me smile everytime I look into his eyes. Hence, I have made a firm decision to use him as a mascot for Wayneston Bears.

I took a close picture of him and trace out the details manually on Adobe Illustrator software. I adjusted all the angles and outlines, after that I chose colour codes for my logo. The reason for choosing green... that's my favourite colour =)

One and a half year ago, I started making bears, hoping to become a bear artist because I love to create and I want to be a toy designer. My love for soft toys grew over the years and I wish to create a range of toys myself. The process is very tough, I make bears everyday without fail to improve skills.

Today, I have reached my first accomplishment of creating more than 100 bears/animals! I hope that my creations can be seen by more people and touch the hearts of people.

I am in the midst of creating a 100 Wayneston Bears montage for my blog, getting my fingers crossed to complete it this week. Thanks for the support and visit my blog =)

Katie Fulford of Loveable Treasures made me these felted animals, aren't they cute? She specialises in making mini detailed animals. Her workmanship is superb and I would highly recommend her. Raccoon is my birthday present on April and panda is my xmas present. Thank you Katie =)
